Flex Legal is an online platform to connect law firms and general counsel to lawyers and law students for a flexible on-demand service. At Flex Legal we are working in the burgeoning field of Legal Tech and service clients ranging from Magic Circle firms to in-house legal teams. After explosive growth over the past five years, we are looking for more Flex Associates to join our Commercial Development Scheme.

The Commercial Development Scheme is a program for future lawyers, with or without training contracts, looking to hone their commercial skills before they start their legal careers. As a Flex Legal Client Services Associate, you will receive unparalleled commercial exposure to all aspects of a successful Legal Tech start-up business. The Flex Legal Client Services Team are at the forefront of our company and are integral to the entire lifecycle of the business. You will be trained by and working with our operations, sales, commercial and finance teams and will be involved in coordinating new client requests and managing candidate applications and onboarding, negotiating legal documents and meeting new lawyers. You will be supporting our growth across the UK and shaping the future direction of the company, while gaining fantastic practical experience to build your CV and prepare you for your future careers.

Our aim is that you will finish the Commercial Development Scheme with both the skills and confidence to flourish in your forthcoming legal or professional career. We require full time commitment for a minimum of 6 months.


This role is working in the Client Services (Lawyers) team and will involve:

  • Managing candidate applications and onboardings;
  • Working with the team to find the best candidates for clients' interim legal resourcing needs and setting up requests;
  • References and conducting compliance checks with candidates;
  • Arranging placements and ongoing support of candidates;
  • Collecting feedback and managing client relationships.

We firmly believe that the F-LEX associates are the best ambassadors for our company, and so you’ll be involved in multiple areas of the business: networking with clients, generating new leads, attending sales meetings, negotiating legal documents and directly corresponding with clients.

Qualifications and skills

  • LLB, GDL or LPC
